Hartlip
We were hired to design, manufacture, and install a kitchen and utility/boot room in a period property located in the picturesque village of Hartlip, between Maidstone and Sittingbourne. The client’s main goal was to create a design that seamlessly blended traditional solid wood in-frame cabinetry, in keeping with the home’s historic charm, with modern appliance features and functionality. They wanted the kitchen to serve as a family hub for casual meals, entertaining, and parties. The open beams and posts in the kitchen were a standout feature, and we made sure our design complemented them while remaining functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The cabinetry features a striking combination of bold Slate Blue and classic Porcelain, paired with contrasting light and dark quartz countertops to add depth and visual interest. Key appliances include two dishwashers, a Quooker 5-in-1 boiling tap, a fridge freezer pull-out drawer, a vented induction hob, a tall integrated fridge, an Everhot electric range cooker, a Neff Slide & Hide single oven, a combination microwave/oven, and a warming drawer.
The utility/boot room follows the same style, also featuring Slate Blue cabinetry. We incorporated drawers and cupboards under oak benchtops for convenient boot and shoe storage. The tall cabinetry was customized to house a washer and dryer, provide ample shelving, and offer hanging space for coats, laundry, or ironing. Additionally, a dedicated area was designed for easy wheelchair storage.
This project blends timeless design with modern convenience, making the kitchen and utility spaces both beautiful and functional for the client’s lifestyle.
